The FieldSeeker ULV Office program is normally updated using the "Check for updates" button. You may need to get IT assistance or administrator privileges to check for updates and install them. If you check for updates and receive this error, "Unable to check for updates, the server file failed to load", you can update the program manually using the instructions below.
We manage program updates using Amazon AWS on the backend. Amazon has updated its security requirements and is dropping support for certain old-style connections. The ULV Office program updater was using one of those connections. Therefore, we need to update the updater file. This is also true of the ULV Mobile program, which uses the same backend processes to manage updates.
If you don’t update, nothing bad will happen. FieldSeeker ULV will continue to function. The "Check for updates" button will fail until an updated file is copied into place to allow the connection.
